New Year, New body...

and all that jazz....

There tends to be a rush of people revving up their activity levels this time of year. I see many injuries and pain in my treatment room arising after increased activity. The Voice even wrote an article about the increase in gym injuries today.

Why does this occur?

From my experience, most of these injuries have one thing in common: muscular contractile inefficiency. What this means is that some muscles, through stress, trauma, overuse, dehydration... are not communicating well with the central nervous system, they are weakened and sluggish. This may be noticeable in training by decreased range of motion, poor form in exercise/ movement and therefore decreased performance, but can go unnoticed to the untrained eye as our body compensates well for its inefficiencies and leaves you vulnerable, until of course pain or injury occurs without warning.

How to reach your goals injury free?

Maintain balance.... I offer a specific and unique process for evaluating an individual’s ability to produce efficient muscle contraction and correcting muscular imbalances, joint instability and limitations in range of motion by performing force application techniques that can restore function and strengthen the weak muscles keeping you strong, balanced and performing well.

Can it work for you?
This technique is effective for everyone, from elite athletes to rehabilitation patients, and anyone in between. It has been successfully implemented with professional athletes (NFL, NBA, NHL, CFL, PGA, etc.) in clinical rehabilitative, personal training environments, and countless other settings.

If reaching your health and fitness goals matter to you this year, I'd be honoured to be a part of that journey by keeping you balanced to achieve them! Feel free to get in touch by e-mail at nadia@motionmekanics.com with any questions or to make a booking.
